CHALLENGE OVERVIEW

The Norway Hut-to-Hut Challenge contains many of the elements of a true polar expedition – skiing up to 25km a day in freezing temperatures with a backpack, on the same plateau where Shackleton, Scott and Amundsen came to train for Antarctica - but with no pulk to pull and no nightly camp to construct and strike.

The experience will culminate in a last evening in front of a roaring fire in the iconic Hotel Finse 1222.

First night is spent at the Finse 1222 hotel, named for its elevation above sea level.

After a convivial night, we’ll leave as a team from the hotel direct into the National Park - equipped to ski through mountain passes, up glaciers, across frozen lakes and into valleys, amid stunning views of Hardangerjokulen and the surrounding region. You’ll return home with courage affirmed, more confident to tackle new challenges.

INVIGORATING EXPERIENCES, PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

THE FUNDAMENTALS OF POLAR TRAVEL

Whilst skiing up to 20kms per day, you’ll have the opportunity to test your leadership, team-work and navigation skills whilst enjoying the majestic beauty of the Hallingskarvet National Park.

Constructed by the government to encourage outdoor adventure and promote hardiness, the huts range from the basic to the luxury-adjacent. We’ll enjoy Norwegian food and tales of adventure in front of an open fire before settling down for the night.

TRADITIONAL NORWEGIAN HUTS

Hotel Finse 1222 comes with magnificent views of the frozen Lake Finsevann and the glacier beyond. The inside is as welcoming as only Norwegians know how: firewood, food, friendship, fulfilment and an encouraging portrait of Sir Ernest in reception.

We’ll return to this haven for a well-earned last evening together, featuring fabulous food that tastes better than ever and the sense of fulfilment that comes with testing your own limits and coming through as a team.
