The impact of human activity on the environment remains a distant concept much of the time. Often experienced only through news articles or on-screen images of far-off places. This journey offers a counterpoint: the opportunity to witness these effects firsthand, guided by environmental experts who bring understanding to what is being observed. Over a series of day hikes and boat trips across a diverse range of interconnected ecosystems in British Columbia – from the open ocean and coastlines to ancient rainforests, dramatic fjords and towering mountains – you will gain an understanding of the environmental changes shaping our planet.

Trek through old-growth rainforests, where colossal trees, one to two thousand years old and boasting six-meter-wide trunks, stand as silent, ancient sentinels, their towering canopies creating a hushed world of filtered light and damp earth. Beneath your feet, a soft carpet of moss muffles your steps as you navigate this primeval sanctuary.

Witness some of North America's most iconic wildlife

Venture out into the ocean for a chance to see majestic humpback whales spouting. Along the rugged coastlines, sea otters raft amidst belts of kelp, while the barks of basking stellar sea lions echo from rocky islands. Heading inland through the inlets and fjords, the black and grizzly bears forage on the banks for food while bald eagles and ravens soar overhead.
