The key to expedition success, by Louis Rudd
Tales of the unexpected – the inside story on The Spirit of Endurance Expedition
Shackleton Director of Expeditions Louis Rudd MBE is a former Royal Marine Commando and one of the longest serving members of the SAS (25 years). He is the first – and only – person to have traversed Antarctica twice using human power alone and has reached the South Pole three times from different coastal start points.
He is a member of the exclusive Explorers Club, a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and a published author. Here, Louis talks about mission and purpose, as well as highlighting some of the key moments across his three Antarctica expeditions.
