Join us on an expedition experience
Our new expedition division, Shackleton Challenges, takes you into extreme environments to experience the challenges of polar exploration.
We’ve long believed that it’s when faced with challenges that we discover who we really are. We also believe that there are few better ways to exercise this feeling than by taking yourself out of your comfort zone and pushing your mind and body in an extreme environment. We want everyone to be able to experience the rewards of challenge through exploration, so we’ve launched Shackleton Challenges, a programme of expedition travel and training experiences located in some of the most spectacular places on earth.
Developed by our in-house Expedition Team and led by explorer Louis Rudd MBE, the itineraries have been designed to challenge novices and accomplished explorers alike, offering a range of destinations from Norway to Svalbard to Antarctica and, ultimately, the South Pole. Whatever your experience, there will be a Challenge for you. You can see the itineraries HERE.
We work closely with some of the very best polar guides, ensuring high levels of safety, tuition and expertise on every expedition. Every Shackleton Challenge has at least two highly-qualified guides – between them they will have accumulated thousands of miles on foot in extreme conditions and dealt with a very wide range of situations and contingencies. You will have several interactions with the guides prior to departure; they will advise on pre-trip training, essential kit and what to expect on expedition.
