The Shackleton Glacier stretches 100 miles ascending south from the Ross Ice Shelf through the Queen Maud Mountains between Mount Speed and Waldron Spurs to the high polar plateau. US-SCAN chose to name the glacier to further immortalise the Boss. As such this is the ultimate Shackleton Challenge. You will be dropped at the base of the Glacier in the stunning and remote Transantarctic Mountains. Under the expert guidance of Louis Rudd MBE, you will traverse approximately 120 miles up the glacier delivering you to the high polar plateau. You will haul your pulk a further 300 miles to finally arrive at the South Pole after approximately 40 days on the ice. To prepare for this ground-breaking expedition you will undergo a tailored 2-year mental and physical preparedness programme, teaching you all the skills required to complete such a demanding expedition.
