Dec 16 2018 -

Good evening everyone...

Reporting in now from day 44 of the expedition. Great day today, all went really well. I woke up to great weather conditions, no cloud at all. The sun was out and brilliant visibility. The wind had shifted a bit and was directly behind me, which was great. So it was a bit of a relief for my mouth and lips… they feel a bit painful but hopefully it’s given them the chance to recover a bit. I hooked up the music, had Pink Floyd blaring out of my headphone today. I tried to push as hard as I could. Really pleased – I did a record mileage for me today, and I managed to achieve 18.3 nautical miles.

[Issue with the voicemail here, hence truncated].

I want to finish with a shout out to the Infantry Battle School, where I’m currently posted. To the MTO, I know they’re following the expedition. A shout out to Lt Col Shaun Chandler, my Commanding Officer. Without his support and help, I couldn’t possibly have mounted this expedition. To Rich Hill, the QM, especially the team down at the MT, who are hopefully covering in my absence. All the guys, the drivers at the LAD as well. I look forward to seeing you all when I get back next year!

That’s all from me tonight.

Onwards...
