Mission: To learn the skills and techniques of alpinism, culminating in a 4,000m summit expedition
The Shackleton Alpine Skills Challenge offers the unique opportunity of a structured week of expert mountain training in the French Alps with the benefit of luxury accommodation, kit, transport and all logistics taken care of. Led by IFMGA mountain guides, you will visit the optimal places for learning every aspect of Alpinism, all in preparation for a summit attempt of Gran Paradiso - one of the coveted 4,000m peaks of the Graian Alps in Italy. From dramatic granite ridges topped with snow to ancient blue-ice glaciers, the Chamonix valley is one of Europe’s best adventure playgrounds; its soaring peaks, challenging terrain and sophisticated infrastructure make it the ideal place to learn at an intensive pace.
