Knox is built for more with a technically versatile formula of a 2-layer, recycled and fully seam-sealed waterproof outer combined with 85% recycled down insulation. Knox has been designed with expedition DNA to reinvent the classic staple of a warm, waterproof jacket using materials and features that you’d usually find in our Polar-ready gear.
Engineered to be your everyday companion in unpredictable conditions, the Knox’s hydrophilic waterproof membrane is the same one used in our Polar Exploration suit. This delivers an excellent 20,000mm hydrostatic head waterproof rating and high breathability of 4.32 RET, while the garment is finished with a PFC-free C0 DWR coating to shed moisture from the recycled face fabric.
Insulation is intelligently mapped across the body to maximise warmth and moisture management. Thindown is used for the body and collar, made from 85% regenerated duck down, for lightweight warmth. The sleeves and hood use recycled 3DeFX Synthetic Insulation to transport excess body heat and moisture away when on the move, and retain warmth even if exposed to damp. Knox is built for movement with an underarm gusset to give the shoulders and arms freedom of motion.
Knox carries high-performance features developed for our expedition-grade apparel to handle storms and wintry weather. A magnetic placket and a 2-way YKK Aquaguard zip with an external zip guard runs down the front for protection from high winds that you can easily fasten while wearing gloves. The waterproof Hood is 3-way adjustable and removable, with Cohaesive Cord Locks that hold their position in high winds, while the collar is lined with microfleece for next-to-skin comfort. Finally, an inner jersey Storm Cuff seals the wrist beneath an adjustable Outer Cuff.

Knox was field tested by Ben Kinnear, Team GB Ski Coach, wild camping on Scotland's west coast through breezy to strong wind and heavy rain in cool temperatures.
