Dec 24 2018 -

Good evening everyone...

Reporting in now from day 52 of the expedition. Christmas Eve! By the time you guys get this, it’ll be Christmas Day! Pretty rough conditions today, with the wind and the whiteout on Christmas Eve. But managed to get a full day in and steady progress heading towards 86 degrees South.

I’d like to wish everyone a very merry Christmas. Particularly my wife Lucy, and my three children; Amy, Sophie and Luke, who’ll all be sat round. I’m really sorry I can’t be there guys – I’ll make up for it when I return. Everybody from the British Army; the Infantry Battle School, Adventure Training Group, that’ve been supporting me on the expedition. The Shackleton Company, Martin, Ian and the team, merry Christmas to you guys. And to all the other key sponsors – Level Peaks, Skinzophrenic, Nordic Life, Expedition Foods, my brother, SSVC, The Shackleton Foundation – and many, many more. Too many to list. Merry Christmas to everyone. For myself, it’ll be another full day’s skiing – obviously keen now to get this journey cracked. I’ll be heading out to get a full 12-13 hour day in. And hopefully get myself pretty close to the Leverett Glacier. Which’ll be great – then I can start the descent down there over the last few days of the expedition.

I won’t keep you all any longer, have a great day. I look forward to updating you shortly.

Onwards...
