Freemantle is a fleece gilet for the temperatures you actually live in — not the ones you train for. The main fabric is a 63% recycled wool blend, chosen over synthetic fleece for the way wool regulates heat and resists odour over a full day's wear.

Extrafine Merino wool, blended with cotton, forms the knit rib at the internal collar and hem — the points of a garment that see the most contact and the most temperature loss. This is where Merino's fine fibre diameter earns its place: soft against skin, warm without bulk, and considerably more breathable than a synthetic equivalent.

An internal zip placket sits behind the main zip for added wind protection on the walk to the station or the school run in a Highland downpour. External zipped hand pockets and internal dump pockets carry keys, gloves and a phone without the weight pulling at the fabric. Elasticated armholes keep the gilet close to the body, so it layers cleanly under a shell or over a base layer without restricting the arms.

Freemantle sits as a core layer — worn alone indoors, or layered under a jacket outdoors — from a UK winter through to the colder climates. It is built for living and travelling, not for the technical end of the mountain.
