OWN THE

OWN THE MORNING.

WIN THE DAY.

OWN THE

MORNING.

WIN THE

DAY.

“We’re all on this earth for one special reason. You won’t find it from your bed.”

To Live Courageously takes personal discipline - a commitment to the physical, mental and emotional effort that a future goal demands, whatever it might be. It's a promise from the person you are today to the person you’ll be in the future.

Early-risers since the dawn of time have recognised the untold gifts that come with greeting the sunrise. And the benefits that stay with the witness for the whole day to come. From Marcus Aurelius to Ernest Shackleton, they share a vital insight: there’s a lot more day available than most people realise.

SS24 is Shackleton’s first seasonal collection of lightweight performance apparel. Equip yourself for early mornings and longer days with ultralight jackets, active layers, seasonal knits and waterproof hardshells, dropping throughout the season.

KESTER HAYNES -
 PARAMOTOR PILOT

With the change in seasons, we’re meeting adventurers with an early morning mindset. From pilots to medics, film makers to sailors, we discover how owning the morning helps them win the day.

Fifteen years of experience have taught Kester Haynes to feel as much as plan his flights. The Paramotor pilot and adventurer balances motorised thrust with wind-power to send him skywards and soar free. With this experience comes a practised routine of preparing in the dark to be in the air the moment dawn breaks. The practical reward: empty runways of his choice, less turbulent air and the morning light. The emotional reward: a paranormal sensation to start the day from the sky.

PARAMOTORING PROVIDES A FLYING EXPERIENCE UNIQUE TO THOSE WITHIN AN AIRCRAFT.

"You're flying quite slowly. You can fly low and you're open to the elements. So you get a real feeling of flight. You're not stuck in a cockpit with a five point harness and distant from the outside elements. And what you're feeling and seeing and smelling."

IT TAKES A CERTAIN TYPE OF PERSON TO DO IT.

"It could be considered more dangerous because stronger winds affect a paramotor more than a heavier aircraft. The rewards easily outweigh the risks, but you can also manage the risks. So everything you do as a pilot or an explorer or, you know, you're constantly managing the risks on you and you're not going to take that step if you don't believe it's worth it."

CLAD IN THE HALLEY ULTRALIGHT DOWN JACKET, KESTER RETAINS A FEELING OF WEIGHTLESSNESS FROM TAKE-OFF TO FLIGHT.
