WHY I TAKE IT

LEVISON WOOD

Writer, photographer, explorer and so on to a maximum of 15 words.

"I love the X it always keeps me dry when exploring the amazon, it packs down to a 10th of its size and is just phenomenal."

DESCRIPTION

The Ronne combines superior versatility and rugged durability to create a year-round mid-weight stalwart that’s a cut above the average down jacket, this packable multi-season weight jacket offers a structured fit with serious outdoor credentials.

Windproof with exceptional thermal insulation, the Ronne is proven to maintain body warmth in temperatures as low as -10 degrees when accompanied by a mid-layer. Its 100% recycled ripstop shell fabric is insulated by RDS certified 850-fill power 90/10 goose down.

It is no coincidence the Ronne gets its name from the start point of Louis Rudd MBE's epic Antarctic traverse, it is built with some of the world’s most extreme environments in mind and is designed for the requirements of the most discerning explorers.

Utility plays a crucial role in the Ronne's design with four big external zipped pockets that will carry everything you need on the move. The inner pocket contains a stuff sack to easily pack the jacket down into when not in use. All of this is combined with articulated sleeves, adjustable hem cord, and distinctive baffles for a purposeful look to match its technical provision.

Performing in its own right as a more than capable mid-weight and packable piece of outerwear, the Ronne Down Jacket is also a versatile mid-layer in combination with heavy duty parkas and waterproofs when facing the most extreme conditions.

  • FILL POWER: 850 fill power. Down is the most effective natural insulator in the textile industry.

  • RDS CERTIFIED DOWN: All down is RDS (Responsible Down Standard) certified. You can access a Down Tracking System via the swing ticket in each jacket which contains a code to be entered here.

A garment’s warmth depends on individual tolerance, layering, and conditions like wind or humidity, allowing flexibility beyond its listed temperature range.

Breathability measurement refers to a fabric's ability to allow moisture vapor to pass through, indicating how comfortable it will be during wear. The RET (Resistance to Evaporative Heat Transfer) value is commonly used; lower RET values (0-6) indicate very high breathability, while higher values (above 20) mean poor breathability.

The second way that breathability can be measured is moisture vapour transmission rate (MVTR), given in milligrams per hour (mg/h), showing how much moisture can pass through in a set time frame. Higher MVTR values indicate better breathability, ensuring comfort by reducing moisture buildup.
