WHY I TAKE IT

LEVISON WOOD

Writer, photographer, explorer and so on to a maximum of 15 words.

"I love the X it always keeps me dry when exploring the amazon, it packs down to a 10th of its size and is just phenomenal."

DESCRIPTION

Born from four years of development and proven in Antarctica, the Titan Down Jacket is the world’s warmest jacket for its weight. Weighing just under 1kg (size M) and loaded with 337g of 850 fill power, 90/10 RDS-certified goose down, the Titan is engineered for those who demand absolute performance in the planet’s most hostile environments.

Named after Antarctica's Titan Dome, the coldest location on Earth, the Titan was co-developed and tested by polar explorer Louis Rudd MBE. The Titan represents the pinnacle of Shackleton’s expedition-grade innovation: warmth without compromise, built for life at the extremes.

The Titan has been laboratory tested down to -80°C, proving its capability when conditions go beyond extreme. Its exclusive body-mapped construction and box-wall baffles deliver unrivalled thermal efficiency, while the Heat Halo neck baffle adds vital warmth to the neck area and prevents retained heat escaping from the core body area below. Built from a 2-layer Pertex® Shield with C0 DWR protection and Diamond Fuse durability, the Titan sheds snow and ice with ease while Climashield® Apex panels at the elbows, hood & the cuffs enhance the durability longevity of the jacket. The helmet-compatible, fully adjustable hood offers technical versatility, and double-baffled hand pockets help retain body heat in the coldest moments.

Trusted by professionals, it has been supplied to the UK Ministry of Defence and worn on numerous Shackleton Polar Challenges, cementing its claim as the definitive expedition-grade down jacket.

  • 2 LAYER FABRIC: 2-Layer Pertex Shield and C0 DWR protection with Diamond Fuse durability.

  • FILL POWER: 850 fill power. Down is the most effective natural insulator in the textile industry.

  • DOWN: Down fill is made up of 90% down, 10% feather.

  • RDS CERTIFIED DOWN: All down is RDS (Responsible Down Standard) certified. You can access a Down Tracking System via the swing ticket in each jacket which contains a code to be entered here.
  • Co-developed over three Antarctic seasons with explorer Louis Rudd, MBE.
  • Lab-tested down to -80°C.

ENGINEERED FOR EXTREMES

Designed for technical versatility, the jacket features cohaesive cord locks, YKK Aquaguard Zippers & a Helmet-compatible, fully-adjustable hood.

A garment’s warmth depends on individual tolerance, layering, and conditions like wind or humidity, allowing flexibility beyond its listed temperature range.

Breathability measurement refers to a fabric's ability to allow moisture vapor to pass through, indicating how comfortable it will be during wear. The RET (Resistance to Evaporative Heat Transfer) value is commonly used; lower RET values (0-6) indicate very high breathability, while higher values (above 20) mean poor breathability.

The second way that breathability can be measured is moisture vapour transmission rate (MVTR), given in milligrams per hour (mg/h), showing how much moisture can pass through in a set time frame. Higher MVTR values indicate better breathability, ensuring comfort by reducing moisture buildup.
