SHACKLETON'S LEGACY AND THE POWER OF EARLY ANTARCTIC PHOTOGRAPHY
The Royal Geographic Society will be bringing back its extraordinary exhibition on the photographic legacy of the Endurance Expedition, looking not just at Shackleton as an explore but as a communicator whose story would enthral generations. Frank Hurley’s fragile glass plate and celluloid negatives, stored securely at the Royal Geographical Society for more than 80 years, have been digitised so that they can be seen at the remarkable level of detail he captured during that epic journey. Find out more here.
Thanks to an ongoing collaboration between The Royal Geographical Society (with International Bureau of Geographers) and Salto Ulbeek Publishers in Belgium, the unique opportunity to purchase from the first ever collection of limited edition platinum palladium prints of ‘Endurance’ expedition is now available.
